Police: Registered Sex Offender Arrested In Delaware

HARTLEY, Del. (CBS) - Delaware State Police have arrested a man after he allegedly sexually assaulted a 17-year-old female Saturday morning.

Police say the incident happened a little after 1 a.m. at the suspect's residence in the unit block of Brittney Lane. According to police, Steven Schwan,26, allegedly entered a bedroom in his home where the victim was sleeping and sexually assaulted her.

The victim later reported the incident to police who say the woman was staying overnight at the home where she knew a friend when the incident happened.

State police obtained a warrant for Schwan who is a Tier II registered sex offender, according to authorities. Police were unable to locate Schwan on the night of the alleged assault, but found him at his home on Sunday morning.

Schwan is charged with rape and unlawful sexual conduct. He is being held on $30,000 bond.
