Police Arrest One Suspect, Searching For Two Others Believed To Be Responsible For Montgomery County Homicide
EAST NORRITON, Pa. (CBS) – Police in Montgomery County are investigating a robbery and homicide that happened in Norristown on Monday.
Around 7:54 p.m., East Norriton police responded to Mercy Suburban Hospital for a report of a gunshot victim who had arrived by private vehicle.
The victim was later pronounced dead and identified as Andrew Polen, 25, of West Norriton Township.
An investigation revealed that Polen was a passenger in a car being driven by a friend which was targeted for a robbery in the 1200 block of Lafayette Street in Norristown Borough.
During the robbery, multiple shots were fired at the vehicle, and Andrew Polen was struck in the torso.
Detectives say the outside of the car was struck by gunfire at three different locations.
On Tuesday, detectives from the Norristown Police Department interviewed Rontrey Williams, 18, who allegedly admitted his role in the homicide to detectives.
Police continue to search for two other male suspects who were with Williams at the time of the robbery.
Wilkins has been charged with First Degree Murder, Second Degree Murder, Third Degree Murder, Robbery, and related offenses. He's being held at Montgomery County Correctional Facility without bail.
