Police Arrest Man Wanted On Attempted Murder Charges In Camden
CAMDEN, NJ (CBS) – Camden County police say they arrested an armed suspect on Tuesday morning who was wanted in Deptford for an attempted murder and armed robbery earlier that day.
Just before 9:50 a.m. Tuesday, Deptford officers responded to an armed robbery on the 1000 block of Mantua Pike in which the suspect used a Taser-like device on the victim and fired a handgun at another victim.
After fleeing in one of the victim's vehicles, the suspect was tracked to Camden.
Officers from numerous area departments were able to join forces and locate the stolen vehicle parked near the corner of 6th and Berkley Streets.
A few minutes later, an officer in the area of 7th and Vine Streets saw Wayne John Moruzin, 60, of Westville, who matched the physical description of the suspect sought for the Deptford incident.
Moruzin was placed under arrest and found to be in possession of a loaded Hi-Point Firearms CF380 ACP semi-automatic handgun and five bags of heroin.
Moruzin was charged with Possession of a Weapon, Possession of Hollow Point Bullets, Certain Persons Not to Have Weapons, Possession of a CDS and Receiving Stolen Property. The Certain Persons charge was based on a prior Burglary conviction.
Moruzin is being held on $150,000 cash or bond.
