Police Arrest Delaware Man For 11th DUI
BRIDGEVILLE, DE (CBS) -- Delaware State Police arrested a Bridgeville man Saturday evening after a traffic stop led to his 11th DUI.
77-year-old Ruppert Bell Jr. was pulled over by a trooper around 6:40 p.m. after the trooper, traveling southbound on Coverdale Road just north of Hastings Farm Road, noticed a truck in front of him was traveling above the posted speed limit and had crossed over into the northbound lanes several times.
During the traffic stop, the trooper noticed signs of impairment. Bell was subsequently taken into custody and charged with DUI, Driving After Judgment Prohibited, Driving While Suspended or Revoked, Failure to Remain in a Single Lane, and Speeding.
A computer check revealed 10 previous convictions of DUI dating back to 1987.
