Police Announce Arrest In Fatal Upper Darby Barber Shop Shooting
By Dan Wing
UPPER DARBY, Pa. (CBS) -- Police have arrested a 27-year old Philadelphia man in connection with a fatal shooting that took place in an Upper Darby Barbershop Wednesday afternoon. The incident appears to have been the result of a love triangle.
Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood says Sharif Wynn was taken into custody at a home on Madison Street. The arrest comes just one day after Chitwood says Wynn walked into a barber shop on Copley Road, pointed a gun at 35-year old Michael Turner's head and demanded money.
Chitwood adds that Wynn was dating Turner's ex-girlfriend, and claims that he went there to scare the victim.
Wynn also told police that when he reached down to pick up money that Turner had thrown on the ground, his gun accidentally went off, shooting Turner in the head.
Shariff Wynn now faces charges of murder, robbery, weapons offenses and numerous related crimes.
