Police Alert Residents Of 'Pigeon Drop' Scam In Cherry Hill
CHERRY HILL, N.J., (CBS) – Authorities are alerting residents about an attempted scam by a female suspect in New Jersey.
Cherry Hill Police say on Friday, May 24th at about 12:30 p.m., a woman attempted to scam an elderly female utilizing what is known as a "Pigeon Drop".
According to police, the female suspect allegedly approached the victim in the parking lot of Wegmans in Cherry Hill and showed the victim a bag of "money" that she said she found.
Police say the suspect allegedly attempted to convince the victim to withdraw money as a sign of good faith and they would later split the money inside of the bag.
Authorities say the suspect was unsuccessful in this incident.
