Police: 80-Year-Old Woman Abducted, Robbed In West Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia Police are searching for a man and a woman they say allegedly forced an elderly woman into a car, drove her to a bank, and then robbed her.
The 80-year-old victim told police she was walking toward the Salvation Army at 55th and Market Streets around 12 p.m. Monday when she was approached by a woman.

The victim says the woman allegedly told her that she had money that she wanted to give her. The victim says a man then approached and also began to tell her that they had money for her. The victim said she believed that something was going on and she became scared telling them to leave her alone.
According to the victim, the man and woman did not leave her alone and followed her. The victim says the woman went and got her vehicle while the man allegedly forced her into the car.
When she was in the car, the victim says they asked her what bank she used. Police say the victim told them Citizens Bank, and on the way to the bank the suspects allegedly told the victim to take money out of the account so they could give her money.
According to police, the suspects then took her to the Citizens Bank at the Penn Rose Plaza. When the victim was in the bank, police say the suspects went to a side booth where an employee was seated.
Police say the man allegedly sat with the victim at the table. The victim told the bank employee that she wanted to withdraw $8,000. According to police, the man allegedly told the bank employee that it was for the victim's sister who just passed away. The employee brought the victim her cash. Police say the victim went to get her money and the man pushed her hand away, allegedly took her money and put it in his pocket.
According to police, they left the bank and got back into the car where the victim was later taken to 57th and Chestnut Street.
The male suspect is described by police as a Black male, short, about 40 to 50-years-of-age, wearing a dark colored hat, dark colored blazer and white shirt.
The female suspect is described by police as a Black female, tall, with a dark colored wig, wearing all dark clothes driving a green or dark colored Saturn, SUV, with New Mexico tags.
