Police: 780 Bags Of Heroin Seized In Fast-Food Restaurant Parking Lot
DOVER, Del. (CBS) – Police in Delaware have arrested and charged two men after seizing 780 bags of heroin.
The incident occurred around 6 p.m. outside of a Wendy's restaurant, located at 1710 North DuPont Highway in Dover, on Friday.
Police say a suspect, previously determined to be distributing heroin, occupied a blue Town & Country minivan that was parked in the Wendy's parking lot. The van had two occupants in total.
Detectives approached the van and found that 31-year-old Jamar Tate, of Wilmington, had $500 and 650 bag of heroin in his pants. Police say they also found 130 bags of heroin in the center console of the van.
Detectives determined that the 130 bags of heroin had been sold to the second occupant of the vehicle, 24-year-old Colby Hopkins, of Milton.
Tate has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, delivery of a controlled substance, second degree conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was committed to Vaughn Correctional Center in lieu of $39,000 cash bail.
