Player Style Files: Pro-golfer Erik Compton Talks About Life On The Green And On The Water
PGA tour professional golfer Erik Compton had a pretty good year in 2014, finishing runner-up at the U.S. Open. But he feels that is just a building block for what is to come.
“This year has been a really exciting year, and now it’s giving me something to shoot for in the future,” Compton said.
While Compton is strictly business on the green, off of it, he just likes to relax.
“I like to spend time with my wife, daughter, friends and family,” Compton said. “I’m a big outdoors guy, so I like to be on the water fishing.”
Fishing is one of Compton’s favorite hobbies, and his home down in South Florida is the perfect scenery for it.
“The great thing about living down here in South Florida is you can pretty much fish 365 days of the year,” Compton said.
Compton has caught many fish in his time, but perhaps none bigger than a 54-pound dolphin he caught-an unofficial world record.
