Plant Sale And Gardening Book Giveaway
By Phran Novelli
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - There's a plant sale coming up on Saturday May 4th at the Ambler Arboretum of Temple University, featuring trees and shrubs - including lots of native plants (that welcome more birds and butterflies to your yard), along with vegetable starts (so you don't have to plant from seed); plus pretty perennials, annuals, herbs, and hanging baskets.
And, if you volunteer to work at the sale, you'll get 20% off your plant purchases!
Another great thing I wanted you to know about is that they're collecting gently-used gardening books to sell. So, if you have gardening books you don't refer to anymore, or books you bought on a topic you never pursued (like that rose garden you never dug, or the windowbox you never built), you can get them out of your house and donate them to the sale for other gardeners to enjoy by dropping them off at the Ambler Campus Greenhouse or Cottage Hall, Room 8, by Friday, May 3rd.
Call (267) 468-8191 for details... or to sign up for a volunteer shift at the May 4th Plant Sale at the Ambler Arboretum.
