Plans For Philadelphia's New Year's Eve Fireworks Shows Revealed

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Mayors from two cities got together today at Philadelphia City Hall to give Delaware Valley residents and visitors a heads-up on what to do New Year's Eve.
The highlights include not one but two fireworks displays.
The tradition of fireworks on the Delaware River will light up the sky at midnight for the 23rd year. And for the fifth year, there will be another show at 6pm on New Year's Eve, for families with children or those with other plans.
Free points for viewing the fireworks include Penn's Landing in Philadelphia, Wiggins Waterfront Park in Camden, and the Sugarhouse Casino walking path.
Ticketed spots include inside Sugarhouse, Adventure Aquarium, River Rink, Independence Seaport Museum, aboard the Moshulu or the Battleship New Jersey, the Hyatt, and Dave and Buster's.
KYW Newsradio 1060 will broadcast the official soundtrack for both shows in real time; the midnight show will also be televised by CBS3.
Longtime KYW Newsradio anchor Steve Nikazy voices the introduction and handles the countdown to both shows.
Today, Nikazy provided a sample in the mayor's reception room at City Hall as Mayor Nutter, Camden mayor Dana Redd, and others had confetti rain down on them -- with a Mummer's string band to help get them in the mood.
