PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Moments after taking off from Philadelphia International Airport, a Pittsburgh bound flight was forced to land after a possible bird strike.
According to reports, a US Airways Airbus A320 departed PHL at 3:50 p.m. bound for Pittsburgh International Airport.
During the initial climb the plane experienced a possible bird strike and was forced to land.
The plane, carrying 140 passengers and five crew members, landed safely at 4:06 p.m.
The passengers were flown to Pittsburgh on a different plane, according to US Airways officials.
There were no injuries reported and investigation is needed to determine whether or not a bird did actually strike the plane.
