PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police are searching for two suspects who shot and killed a pizza delivery driver Tuesday evening. Investigators believe the deadly shooting was a robbery set-up.
The incident happened at about 10 p.m. in the 2500 block of Massey Street in Southwest Philadelphia.
Chief Inspector Scott Small says when the delivery man, identified as 29-year-old Ronald Anderson Jr., arrived at the address where he was told to deliver the pizza, he was greeted by a hail of bullets. Police say Anderson tried to run back to his SUV, but he never made it there.
"He had two gunshot wounds; one to the lower back and one to the left leg," Small said.
Anderson was rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in grave condition, but he was pronounced dead shortly before 11 p.m.
So far, no arrests have been made. Anyone with information is urged to call 911.
