PHL Unveils Newly Completed Expansion Project

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Philadelphia International Airport unveiled a new, 34,000 square-foot facility Friday.

Airport CEO Chellie Cameron says she's thrilled to officially introduce the Terminal F Baggage Claim Facility:

"We think that this is the kind of facility that our passengers in this region deserve. I think it's a testament to the hard work that everybody put in to open it up."

This was part of a $160-million multi-phase project.

"We've been working on the whole Terminal F project for a number of years," says Cameron, "but this facility is the final phase and it's taken us about 2 or 3 years to complete."

It includes increased concession space and other renovations, and was outfitted with works by artist Stacy Levy:

"We do a competition for all of our facilities and we do try to incorporate art," says Cameron. "We also only use Philadelphia artists, but this one in particular, she had a vision to do something that had to do with the river and water and so she created three pieces that ultimately give different perspectives and different views on the river."

Terminal F is operated exclusively by American Airlines.
