PHL Airport Holds a Job Fair at Temple University

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Hundreds of job seekers descended on Temple University this morning for a one-day job fair conducted by Philadelphia International Airport.
Many types of employers -- from the airlines to food kiosks -- were taking applications. The floor of the Liacouras Center was buzzing with hopeful applicants swarming around tables set up by some 40 employers with an estimated 600 jobs to fill -- everything from clerks to managers, in industries ranging from food service to security.
"Anything that happens at the airport, they're here today," said City Council president Darrell Clark. "People are pretty excited about these opportunities." And Clark was pleased with the turnout.
The job seekers were as varied as the jobs available. Timothy Veal, for example (below), was looking for an IT job.
"I'm open to really anything, and I've only touched about half the room, so I'm looking to tackle the rest," he told KYW Newsradio.

Dina (no last name given), just home from college, was looking for a summer job.
"It's easy," she said. "Just hand 'em your résumé, see what they want, what they have to offer, what you have to offer them."
Nick Jones, of Sunglass Hut, expected to be able to fill his openings.
"We've gotten a lot of really great applications so far, a lot of really great résumés of people we're going to bring in for interviews," he said.
