Phils Phans Pack Bright House Field For Spring Training Action
CLEARWATER, Fla. (CBS) - It was standing room only again at Brighthouse Field for Thursday's matchup between the Phillies and Yankees.
Larry Blechman has been making the trek to Clearwater since 2007 when the Phillies began their rise to the top. He says these are the best of times.
"I've been a Phillies fan for 51 years, never been more fun than this. Even better than '76 through '80. You gotta love it."
Fans got a bonus as they watched Roy Halladay shut down the Yankees for six innings. It made the Brighthouse Field all the sweeter for folks like Larry and Gayle Kimble of Downingtown, Pa.
"Well, it's open air, lots of vendors. They have entertainment afterwards. What more can you ask for. Because you're down here, you gotta fill up your day, you see the game and hang out with the fans. And it's up close and personal."
