Philly Soccer Show: Union Move Forward Following Impressive Win Against Columbus Crew
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- What a difference a week makes. After stumbling badly in their season opener in Dallas, the Philadelphia Union pick up a tough road win against Columbus Crew, their first road win ever against them. And the KYW Philly Soccer Show talks with the hero of the game, midfielder Chris Pontius. KYW's Greg Orlandini and CBS-3's Kevin Kinkead talk with the former DC United man, who scored both Union goals in the team's 2-1 win against the Crew.
Pontius talks about working with the team since coming over from DC in the off season. He also talks about missing time over the last few season due to injuries and the hard work he put into coming back and contributing to the Union.
We then talk a bit with www.mlssoccer.com reporter Dave Zeitlin. He had some technical issues to work through, but Dave was able to give his insight on the Union's turn around against the Crew. One thing we discussed was the team's defensive frailties.

Philly gave up a lot of fast breaks against the Dallas in week one, and that problem was still there against the Crew. Columbus was able to move quickly up field with 4 or 5 players in the attack.
