Philly Soccer Show: Union Midfielder Michael Lahoud And MLS News

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Philadelphia Union's Michael Lahoud is known on the field for his work ethic and his tidy, no-nonsense play. But off the field, Lahoud is striving to make the world a better place.
This week, the midfielder talks with Greg Orlandini and Eli Pearlman-Storch on the KYW Philly Soccer Show. Lahoud talks about the charity he works with, Schools for Salone, which works to build schools in his native African country Sierra Leone. He got involved with the Seatle-based group in 2010.
We also talk some soccer, as Lahoud talks about what he is doing in the off season to get ready for next year and what the future holds for the Union.

In part two, Greg and Eli go rapid fire, covering a busy couple weeks in the soccer world. The Los Angeles Galaxy and Houston Dynamo are set to face off in the MLS final on December 1st and they break down the game.
Hanging over the final thought is the announced departure of David Beckham from the Galaxy. Speculation is running rampid about where he may end up. But the superstar says he will become an owner in the league.
Plus, the USA played a 2-2 draw against Russia which showcased another dour, conservtive lineup. But it did feature two nice goals from U.S. midfielders Michael Bradley and Mix Diskerud.
Finally, the Union wavied three players this week, including one of their big named signings from last season, Gabriel Gomez. Gomez, who is the captain of the Panama National team, never fit in with the team after Peter Nowak's firing and was hobbled by injury. He was the second highest paid player on the team and this move gives the Union a little cap breathing room.
