By Greg Orlandini
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Darlington Nagbe is one of the top young players in MLS, and he is this week's guest on the KYW Philly Soccer Show.
The Portland Timbers midfielder chats with KYW's Greg Orlandini and Philly Soccer Page writer, Eli Pearlman-Storch.
Nagbe is having a career year for the Timbers with five goals and three assists. The Timbers are second in the Western Conference with one of the best records in the league. He talks about what it's like playing for his college coach, Caleb Porter, who took the head coaching job at Portland this year. The Timbers travel to Philadelphia to face the Union this Saturday at PPL Park.
We then look back at the Union's water logged home win against Chivas USA. PPL's field was turned into a swamp due to torrential rains last Friday, but the Union slogged through for a spirited, come from behind 3-1 win.
We also discuss the Gold Cup. The U.S. National Team advanced to the quarterfinals after a nervy 1-0 win against Costa Rica this week.
