Philly Soccer Show: Peter Vermes of Sporting K.C.
By Greg Orlandini
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Union heads to Sporting Kansas City this Easter Sunday, and the KYW Philly Soccer Show talks to that team's head coach this week.
KYW's Greg Orlandini and Philly Soccer Page writer Eli Pearlman-Storch are joined by Burlington County, NJ native, former US National Team player, and Sporting KC head coach Peter Vermes.
The struggling Union faces its old foe, Sporting, as Philly searches for its first win. Vermes talks about his team's move to the more competitive Western Conference, in MLS. He also says that while they haven't gotten things going yet, they are still a team to be respected.
Then, Kevin Kinkead from CBS-3 joins the talk.
The Union came off a woeful 1-0 loss at Chicago last Sunday. It marks the third time in the first four games that the team has been shut out.
We then answer some questions our listeners have posted via Twitter.
