PHILADELPHIA (CBS) –- A perfect three-for-three for the US National Team, and the Philadelphia Union gets a new goalkeeper. The KYW Philly Soccer Show has it all for you.
First, KYW's Greg Orlandini and Philly Soccer Page writer Eli Pearlman-Storch talk with ESPN FC senior writer Jeff Carlisle, who covers the National team and MLS.
Jeff breaks down the three consecutive wins for the Yanks in the latest round of World Cup qualifiers. He says that fact that head coach Jurgen Klinsmann has settled on a formation and a lineup has been the key to the team's recent success.
---
Then, Greg and Eli discuss the newest member of the Union, goalkeeper Oka Nikolov, who comes to the team after spending his entire 20-year career with Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany.
Coach John Hackworth says Nikolov is here to work with current starter Zac MacMath, not replace him.
We also look ahead to the Union's tough match this Sunday against the New York Red Bulls. The Union has had very little success against New York recently, but are looking to prove themselves against the second-place team in the Eastern Conference.
