CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) –- Kelyn Rowe is one of the key players for a resurgent New England Revolution, and now he is the guest on the KYW Philly Soccer Show. The young midfielder talks with KYW's Greg Orlandini and Philly Soccer Page writer Eli Pearlman-Storch.
The Philadelphia Union are heading to Foxboro, Mass. to take on the Revs this Sunday. The Revs are just three points out of a playoff spot. We talk with Rowe about the role he and the other young New England players have played in the team's improved run.
Then we look back at the Union's 0-0 draw against the New York Red Bulls, the first point the team has ever earned on the road against New York (see game story). The tie was a result of the team's tough, pragmatic style they have developed over the season.
The Union were anchored by a strong showing from defenders Jeff Parke and Amobi Okugo, as well as the improving play of goalkeeper Zac MacMath.
We wrap up with a discussion of the Union's new academy school, set to open in September (see related news story). The school, the first of its kind in MLS, will have kids from grades 8-12 who play in the Union's academy.
