PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Jack McInerney is the leading scorer with the Philadelphia Union and he is the guest on the KYW Philly Soccer Show this week. He talks with hosts KYW's Greg Orlandini and Philly Soccer Page writer Mike Servedio.
Jack has had a whirlwind year, not only leading the team with ten goals, but also getting his first call up to the U.S. National Team and making an appearance with the MLS All Star team last week. He talks about the experience he gained practicing with the National team and getting back in rthymn with the Union after being away from the team.
We then talk about the biggest news in MLS since David Beckham signed with LA Galaxy in 2007: the return to the league of Clint Dempsey. The U.S. National Team captain joined Seattle Sounders from English Premier League team Tottenham Hotspur, signing for $8 million a year.
Dempsey spent more than six years in England, including a 17 goal season with Fulham. He becomes the highest paid player in the league.
We talk about the impact this signing has for the league and its players.
