Philly Soccer Show: Gabriel Farfan
By Greg Orlandini
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) –- The Philadelphia Union will try again tomorrow to get their first win of the year, and the KYW Philly Soccer Show previews the match.
KYW's Greg Orlandini and Philly Soccer Page writer Eli Pearlman-Storch talk with Union midfielder Gabriel Farfan.
Farfan got the start in the midfield, along with his brother Michael, in the Union's 3-1 loss to Sporting Kansas City (see related story). Gabriel talks about that opening game and the strong start the team had, but which they couldn't sustain.
We also talk about the match against Colorado, and the possibility of facing a former Union first-round pick: forward Danny Mwanga, who was recently traded to the Rapids.
Then, Greg and Eli look back at the KC game and ahead to the Rapids. Despite an early goal from Sébastein Le Toux, the Union dropped the SKC game, 3-1.
In the Rapids, though, the Union have a beatable foe. The Colorado team is rebuilding after getting rid of many of the pieces that helped win an MLS Cup in 2010.
This will also mark the first game by the Rapids' all-time leading scorer, Conor Casey, against his former team.
