Philly Soccer Show: Ethan White, Thriving Under Jim Curtin
By Greg Orlandini
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (CBS) -- He spent a good portion of the season on the bench, biding his time. Now, after securing a regular spot on the team, Philadelphia Union defender Ethan White is the guest on the KYW Philly Soccer Show!
White talks with KYW's Greg Orlandini and Philly Soccer Page writer Eli Pearlman-Storch about how, under coach John Hackworth, he found himself rooted to the sidelines. But when Jim Curtin took over after Hackworth's firing, he saw himself insert into the lineup, where he has thrived.
The former DC United player also talks about facing his old team in Washington this Saturday, as the Union head down to RFK Stadium.
Then, CBS3's Kevin Kinkeak joins the talk. We touch on a wide range of subjects, including the Union's coaching situation.
A number of published reports say that the "interim" tag has been lifted from Jim Curtin, making him the permanent boss. But Curtin quickly dispelled those reports, saying he is still fighting to get the "interim" label dropped.
