Philly Soccer Show: Curtin Talks Super Draft Additions
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Did the Philadelphia Union get their man in the MLS Super Draft last week?
That's the question the KYW Philly Soccer Show puts to Philadelphia Union manager Jim Curtin. He talks with KYW's Greg Orlandini and Philly Soccer Page writer Eli Pearlman-Storch.
The team had three picks in the first round last Thursday in Baltimore, after making a trade that eventually sent Zac Pfeffer to Colorado for the second pick. The team took defenders Josh Yaro and Keegan Rosenberry at the 2nd and 3rd spot respectively. They then went with forward Fabian Herbers at the six.
Curtin talks about what these players will add to the team as they push for spots on the roster.
Then CBS-3's Kevin Kinkead joins the show. We discuss the Union's roster as it stands now. While the team helped with defense in the draft and the signing of center back Anderson Conceição, the offense still has some needs.
We also look at Union captain Maurice Edu and his like permanent shift back into the midfield from defense.
