Philly Soccer Blog: Delco Native Auston Trusty Talks About Being Part Of Philadelphia Union
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Union Academy is starting bear fruit, and we talk to one of the newest products of the system.
Auston Trusty is the guest this week on the KYW Philly Soccer Show. KYW's Greg Orlandini and Mike Servedio of the Philly Soccer Page talk with the Delaware County native about being a part of the Union organization from almost the team it started.
He recently signed a professional contract with the team, forgoing a chance to play for the University of North Carolina (he joins another academy product, Derrick Jones, who also recently signed for the team.)
Trusty talks about what it is like being part of the big club after moving through the ranks. He says he hopes to be a role model for the other young players still in the academy.
Greg and Mike then talk about the tough home loss had against the always tough Toronto FC. The Union fell 3-1 at Talen Energy Field last Saturday. The team has a chance to bounce back tonight, though, as they visit the Columbus Crew.
