Philadelphia Police Release Video Of Car That Struck Girl In Hit & Run

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Philadelphia Police have released surveillance video of a vehicle they say was involved in the hit-and-run accident that critically injured a 15-year-old girl (see related story).

On Saturday, March 9th, police say Kylie Givens was at the intersection of Cheltenham and Torresdale Avenues in Wissinoming when she was struck by a white vehicle that fled the scene. The vehicle was last seen traveling north on Torresdale Avenue then east on Van Kirk Street.

Givens remains hospitalized with broken ribs and a ruptured spleen, which had to be removed after she was struck.

In a bizarre coincidence, Givens' 10-year-old sister, Sarah, was also allegedly struck by a car just a few days before.  The driver accused in that hit-and-run accident turned himself in to police on Tuesday  (see related story).  The 10-year-old sister suffered a severe leg injury as a result.
