Philly Police For Peace Day Celebrated Throughout Region
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Each Philadelphia Police division sponsored activities in neighborhoods all throughout the city Saturday in honor of Philly Police For Peace Day.
There was plenty of fun and food at the 12th police district celebration in the Cobbs Creek section of Philadelphia. Community relations officers and residents discussed ways they can work together to achieve peace.
"This is actually police month, also, so we are having this event to bring the community and to show them that they work together, and that we want peace in the city as much as they do," Philadelphia police officer Joe Young said.
Residents are encouraged to form neighborhood watches to help keep the peace.
