Philly Man Allegedly Robs Same Atlantic City Bank 5 Years Later
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — A Philadelphia man on supervised release for a 2010 bank robbery in Atlantic City is accused of robbing the same bank in April.
Federal prosecutors in New Jersey say 54-year-old Keith Ney was due to appear in court Wednesday afternoon. He's now in state custody on related charges, and it wasn't clear if he has retained an attorney.
Ney allegedly entered the Cape Bank on April 23 and gave a teller a note that stated he had a gun. Prosecutors say he got an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot.
As Ney was fleeing the scene, a bank employee approached an Atlantic City police officer who was working a traffic detail and told the officer the bank had just been robbed. Nay was immediately spotted and taken into custody.
