Philly Cop Accused Of DUI While On Duty
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A Philadelphia police officer has been suspended for allegedly driving drunk while on duty.
Officer Bill Haviland from the 26th District is under investigation for a possible DUI Sunday night.
The police department has not released details where the alleged DUI took place. For the time being, officials with the department have not commented on the alleged incident.
However, Eyewitness News spoke with the president of the Fraternal Order of Police.
"This incident last night, we're still waiting for the investigation to unfold, but I do see that we'll probably represent that officer," John McNesby said.
Haviland is a seven-year veteran of the force. He has been suspended with the intent to dismiss.
As of this time, no charges have been filed.
