PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A local bicycle frame-builder is moving its annual Philly Bike Expo to the Pennsylvania Convention Center this weekend, bringing together cycling visionaries, companies, advocates, and spectators.
Bilenky Cycle Works Bina Bilenky, the event director, says more than 100 exhibitors will be showcasing their stuff - including artisan custom-made frames, components, apparel and accessories.
Her father, Stephen Bilenky, has been an award-winning custom bike builder for more than 30-years in his North 2nd Street workshop in Olney.
Bina says the presenters include Georgena Terry, who founded the first women's bicycle company in 1985, rolling out bikes, saddles and apparel for women.
"Women's proportions are different," Bilenky says. "Women normally have longer legs and shorter torsos."
Terry pioneered women-specific designs.
"She knows all the tricks of the trade to make the bike perfect."
There are several rides planned for people of all abilities, and expo-goers will have indoor bike valet services, so you can ride and park your bike at the show.
