Philly Bar Association Continues Its Monthly Free Legal Hotline
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Free legal advice is being offered by phone again tonight, part of a decades-long effort by members of the Philadelphia Bar Association to reach area residents in need.
The "Legal Line PM" operates from 5 until 8 PM on the third Wednesday of every month. Area residents can get help about all kinds of legal issues: divorce, child custody, employment, even wills.
Tonight's theme is criminal law, according to Charlie Kitsch of the Bar Association.
"A lot of people don't realize that they're entitled to free legal representation through either the public defender or through appointed counsel by the court in criminal legal matters," Kitsch told KYW Newsradio on Wednesday afternoon.
Calls are free, and those answering can direct callers to attorneys if need be.
The number to call (between 5 and 8pm) is 215-238-6333.
