Phillies Welcome Dodgers To Town This Weekend
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- After losing two out of three to the Marlins down in Florida, the 20-24 Phillies are back home to open a weekend series with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Roberto Hernandez will start the series opener for the Phillies tonight. This will be his first start since May 9th as his last two appearances have come out of the bullpen. Overall this season Hernandez is 2-1 with a 3.98 ERA. This will be his second career start against the Dodgers. The first came last year as he allowed five runs in four innings of work.
Clayton Kershaw will start for the Dodgers. The left-hander is 2-1 with a 4.43 ERA. He missed time earlier this season with a back problem. His last start was his worst in quite some time. He allowed seven runs while getting just five outs in a loss to Arizona. In his career against the Phillies (regular season), Kershaw is 1-4 in 9 starts with a 3.70 ERA.
Los Angeles is 25-23 this season, that's good for third place in the National League West.
