Phillies Look To Win Third Straight Series
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – It's the rubber game of this three game series against the Braves tonight for the Phillies as they give the ball to Kyle Kendrick.
With a win tonight, the Phillies will win their third straight series. They opened this set with a listless 6-1 loss to Ben Sheets, but got even last night as Cole Hamels dominated the Braves in a 3-0 win. That victory snapped a Phillies seven-game losing streak at the hands of Atlanta and improved them to 3-8 against the Braves this season.
As for Kendrick, he is 4-9 in 2012 as he has shuttled between the bullpen and the rotation. In his career, Kendrick has been dominant against the Atlanta Braves going 6-1 with a 2.28 ERA and in 7 1/3 innings against the Braves this season, Kendrick has yet to allow a run.
Atlanta will give the ball to the always tough Tim Hudson in this one. The veteran right-hander is 11-4 with a 3.45 ERA here in 2012.
