Phillies Look To Keep Indians In The Park In Series Finale
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Phillies will turn to Cliff Lee Wednesday night in Cleveland as they look to bounce back from Tuesday night's drubbing in the series finale between the two teams.
The Phillies lost 14-2 on Tuesday as the Indians hit seven home runs off Roy Halladay, Chad Durbin and Raul Valdes (Phillipe Aumont also pitched, but he managed not to get taken deep). The seven home runs is the second most the Phillies have ever allowed in a single game (the Reds hit 9 in a 22-3 win back on September 4th, 1999).
Lee brings a 2-1 record into tonight's game with a 3.03 ERA. He went seven innings in his last start on Thursday, allowing three runs on ten hits against the Pirates at Citizens Bank Park. He got a no-decision in a game the Phillies eventually lost, 6-4. The former Cleveland ace will be making his first appearance against his old team.
The Indians are slated to start right-hander Trevor Bauer who lost his only start this season back on April 6th to Tampa Bay.
