Phillies, Harang Go For Seven In A Row
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- The Phillies are playing their best baseball of the season right now.
Last night's 4-3 win in their series opener in Colorado extended the winning streak for the Phillies to six straight games. They are now 17-23 and the Phils have moved out of last place in the National League East. For the moment they are half-game ahead of the Miami Marlins.
Tonight it is the second game of this four-game series against the Rockies. Aaron Harang will get the start for the Phillies. The veteran right-hander has been outstanding so far in 2015. In eight starts, Harang has gone 4-3 with a 2.03 ERA. He has thrown 53.1 innings, allowing 42 hits and 10 walks, while striking out 37.
This will be Harang's 15th career start against Colorado. He is 6-6 against the Rockies with a 4.50 ERA.
Colorado will start right-hander Chad Bettis who will be making his second start of the season. He allowed four runs in five innings in his first last week against the Dodgers. He has faced the Phillies before, pitching three games against them (with one start) in his career and allowing just one run in 71. innings of work.
