Phillies Fans Glimpse New Hi-Def Scoreboard
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Phillies fans tonight and tomorrow afternoon will get their first Philadelphia look at the team and the big new ballpark scoreboard -- before the regular season opens on Friday.
Phillies fans at the two exhibition games against Pittsburgh tonight and tomorrow will be the first to see the new 7,400 square foot hi-def scoreboard.
Phillies director of Broadcasting and Video Services Mark DiNardo (no relation) says the new board is three times the size of the old one, "I believe the sheer size and magnitude of the display is going to be the first thing that they notice. We got into this project looking for a 'Wow' factor -- it has it."
Fans may also say 'Wow' during the game as Phillies players turn up just about anywhere, says Phillies marketing director Michael Harris, "As you come in through the entrance gates, if you visit the kids activity areas, even if you just visit a regular concession stand, you may be really surprised to see who's actually there helping out and being part of the action."
Fans can also take a picture with the 2008 World Series trophy, as the team prepares to win one in 2011.
