Phillies LHP Daniel Stumpf Suspended 80 Games
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Phillies left-handed pitcher Daniel Stumpf was suspended 80 games for testing positive to a performance-enhancing substance.
"The Phillies support Major League Baseball's Joint Prevention and Treatment Program and are disappointed to hear today's news of Daniel's violation," the team said in a statement released on Thursday.
Stumpf, 25, allowed a three run homer in 0.2 innings pitched in three games so far this season, his only MLB experience.
