Phillies Continue Series In DC Behind Burnett

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Phillies will look to snap a four-game losing streak tonight as they battle the Nationals again down in Washington D.C.
Last night the Phillies were blanked in this series opener, 7-0, as they managed just 6 hits. The loss dropped them to 24-32 on the season. They are in last place in the National League East.
A.J. Burnett will get the start for the Phillies. The right-hander is 3-4 this season and in 12 starts he has a 3.79 ERA. Last time out he allowed five runs in seven innings against the Mets, getting a no-decision.
In his career Burnett has had a lot of success against the Nationals franchise, going 9-3 in 18 appearances (17 starts) with a 3.00 ERA. In his lone appearance against them this season, Burnett allowed one run in six innings, winning a 7-2 decision on May 3rd.
Washington will start RHP Stephen Strasburg in this one. He is 4-4 this season with a 3.15 ERA. This will be his eighth career starts against Washington. He has gone 2-1 in the first seven with a 2.28 ERA.
