Phillies: Brad Lidge Activated Off DL; Danys Baez Sent Down
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Making a roster move today, the Phillies activated reliever Brad Lidge off the 15-day disabled list. The 34-year-old righthander has not pitched at all this season for the Phillies because of a shoulder injury.
Lidge made eight minor league rehab appearances for Single-A Lakewood and Double-A Reading, pitching 7⅔ innings while compiling a 3.52 ERA.
To make room for Lidge on the roster, the Phillies have designated veteran reliever Danys Baez for assignment. Baez, 33, was 2-4 with a 6.25 ERA in 29 appearances this season.
The Phillies open a four-game series with San Diego tonight at Citizens Bank Park (see related story).
