Phillies Ballgirls Hold Tryouts
The boys of Summer may be waiting for Spring trainer, but the women are keeping busy. The Phillies Ballgirls are holding tryouts to fill five to seven open spots on their roster. Close to one thousand women sent in applications, but only about 40 got an invitation back to audition for the team.
The tryout consisted of four tests: hitting, fielding, running and a media interview.
The Ballgirls do much more than just field foul balls during the Phillies games. They also play on a charity softball team, volunteer in the community, and represent the team during rallies.
CBS 3 Anchor Erika von Tiehl stopped by the tryouts to get a behind the scenes look at what it really takes to be a ballgirl.
