Phillies' Clubhouse Store In Mid-Season Form
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Phillies are still in spring training, but their new-look store at Citizens Bank Park is open for business like it's mid-July.
The Majestic Clubhouse store, on the west side of the stadium, is stuffed with stuff but still has an open feel with a grand staircase up to the second floor.
"We want to create the wow factor, and that name-and-number jersey wall is huge, so name and number t-shirts in, up to 18 players, nine colors," says Francis Winkley, business manager for Aramark at the ballpark. And he says nobody else has that many options: "It's over 110 options between the ladies' cut, the kids' cut, and the men's, so that's wow."
He says you can also have a jersey fitted with any name and number you want, while you wait. They have Phils items for cars, pets, and even bathrooms.
But the best selling item is "the Phillie Phanatic pillow-pet," he says. "It's a pillow, it's a pet, it's a pillow-pet. You guys have heard the commercial. It's hot everywhere, and it's even hotter as Phillie Phanatic."
