Philadelphians React To Death Of Moammar Gadhafi
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Folks around the world are reacting to the death of Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi, including here in Philadelphia.
Philadelphians, especially those who hail from arab countries in the middle east have something to say about the death of Gadhafi.
"Ghadafi was a bad person, so I think all the people are gonna be happy to hear that, especially in his own country because most of the people are against him not with him."
Temple University political science professor Sean Yom says this was a dictator with a lot of blood on his hands.
"Liquidations of thousands of prisoners in a very famous massacre, assasinations of well known opposition figures and a climate of domestic fear in which any sort of dissent was rewarded by arrest, torture or death."
And Yom says it's a victory to the people.
"The idea that in less than a year of protests that he would not only lose his country but also his military and his life has taken everyone by surprise."
