Philadelphia Zoo Officials Already Have Summer Camps In Sight
By Michelle Durham
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The temperature outside your door may be hovering around 15 degrees, but the folks at the Zoo have already opened registration for their summer camp.
Manager of Conservation Education Programs at The Philadelphia Zoo, Erin McCool, says camp begins June 16th and runs through August 29th.
"We have three different themed weeks. We have a tiger week, a jaguar week and a lion week. It is the year of the big cat and throughtout the week, they will be learning about big cats, but really they will be experiencing the entire zoo at the same time."
McCool says they will be working directly with Zoo keepers and will get an insider view of the zoo that most don't see.. And the time to register, she adds, is now:
"We actually launched our registration last week. We'll be starting to book up programs pretty quickly. We already have some registration. I would recommend folks sign up sooner rather than later."
