Philadelphia Woman Convicted In Theft Of $35K In Cellphones
WOODBURY, N.J. (AP) — Jurors have convicted a Philadelphia woman of stealing more than $35,000 worth of cellphones from two stores in New Jersey.
Prosecutors believe 27-year-old Fatima Aviles used a former employee's access card to enter two Verizon stores in Glassboro and Washington Township in 2013.
Authorities say phones valued at $35,067 were stolen during three burglaries. A fourth break-in was prevented when a storage room lock was changed.
Aviles' attorney claimed the thief was the former employee.
None of the phones was recovered.
