Philadelphia Woman Admits To Facebook Murder-For-Hire Plot

By Tony Hanson

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --
A 19-year-old Philadelphia woman charged with plotting on "Facebook" to kill her boyfriend has pleaded guilty to conspiracy.

The plot was thwarted, although the intended target was later murdered in what authorities say was an unrelated crime.

London Eley has been sentenced to 3 to 23 months in prison -- time already served -- and five years' probation. Philadelphia prosecutor Jack O'Neill, who says she got credit for accepting responsibility,  says there are additional conditions.

"During the entirety of her sentence she is to stay away from and not use any social media networks,  such as Facebook or Myspace, and she also has to undergo anger management training," O'Neill told KYW Newsradio today.

Eley admitted going on Facebook and offering "a stack" to kill Corey White of West Philadelphia, the father of her child.  Co-defendant Timothy Bynum, who has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial, allegedly responded to her call.

Both Eley and Bynum were arrested, but hours after they were ordered to trial, White was killed (see related story).

Prosecutor O'Neill says the evidence shows that crime was unrelated, and neither Eley nor Bynum suspected in that crime.
