Philadelphia Weather: Scattered Areas Of Snowfall Expected During Evening Commute For Parts Of Region
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- There could be scattered areas of snow during the Monday evening commute for parts of the area. We're likely not going to see enough snow in a long enough duration to really see much in the way of accumulation across most of the region.
The latest projected snow accumulations are:
- Philadelphia and immediate Pennsylvania and New Jersey suburbs: coating to 1 inch
- Far north and east suburbs: 3 to 6 inches
Philadelphia, Montgomery, and Delaware Counties in Pennsylvania and Camden and Gloucester Counties in New Jersey are no longer in any winter alert. Bucks and Northampton Counties are still in a winter storm advisory.
A persistent wedge of dry air stayed stationary to the northeast and southward and movement was inhibited for most of the afternoon.
There are still some problems, though, on the roads with low visibility and slick spots.
PennDOT issued travel restrictions and safety tips for drivers traveling through winter weather.
