Philadelphia Union Fans Invited To Bring Water To Help Stay Cool At Lincoln Financial Field
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Philadelphia Union is set to go head to head with Real Madrid at Lincoln Financial Field in triple digit heat. The field just announced new measures that could help fans stay cool during the game.
The Lincoln Financial Field has a policy that prohibits fans from bringing bottles or cans of any type into the stadium during a game. But given the scorching temperatures- they decided to make a change for Saturday's game.
"Because of the extreme heat out there, we're going to allow fans to bring into the game tonight sealed bottled water with them to keep the heat away."
Rob Zeiger, Senior Vice President for the Eagles says the stadium will have bottled water on hand, as well as free water available at concession stands. Plus if a fan begins to feel the effects of the heat- there is help.
"We have well-trained security staff that should be able to help any patrons that feel unwell," says Zeiger.
He hopes fans can now focus on the field and not on the swelter.
