Philadelphia TV Show ''Dancin' On Air'' May Be Revived

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- They may be "Dancin' on Air" again in Philadelphia, as early as next month.
The popular local '80s television dance show may be making a comeback.
The Philadelphia high school kids who appeared as regulars on "Dancin' On Air" from 1981 to 1987 were local celebrities. Some went on to become nationally known -- such as entertainer Kelly Ripa (at right in top photo).

Now, executive producer Michael Nise is in negotiations with local television station WPHL 17 for a Saturday morning show. Nise says his production company, Omni2000 Inc., is looking for dancers aged 17 to 21 years old.
"We want kids who have personality," he tells KYW Newsradio. "They don't have to be the best looking kids, but they have to have something that they want to watch. It's really a reality program -- it always has been, because we always spotlight our regulars."
Nise says a few venues are being investigated for shooting the show, including one in Huntingdon Valley.
